Bursting Strength Tester is a consistent tool to measure the potency and performance of material like Rexine, leather, paper boards, paper, uneven boards and boxes, industrial fabric and solid fibre boards, filter cloth, plastic films, sheets, etc. B. S. Testing helps to gauge the quality of the material in comparison with other materials. It is provided to gauge the bursting strength of paper or strong paper board by offering it to an escalating standardized hydraulic pressure.
Bursting strength tester is a reliable index of gauging strength and performance of various materials. The Presto’s bursting strength tester is an ideal model for testing a wide range of materials to measure their strength, quality, and performance. The machine is very easy to operate. The Paper Bursting testing instruments are calibrated for reliable and accurate results. The laboratory equipment is widely used in institutions, industries, laboratories and proved to be a highly reliable instrument.
The machine comprises of two clamps namely, upper and lower clamp. The test specimen is placed between two clamps under adequate pressure to diminish the slippage. The upper clamping area which is in contact with the test sample has spiral grooves while the lower clamp surface has concentric grooves. The potency of the material with the help of bursting strength tester is measured in two ways by manually exerting hydraulic pressure or by automatic pneumatic pressure through a rubber diaphragm, on a circular area of the test sample of CFB under various test conditions.
When the force is exerted, the specimen collapse with the diaphragm. Hence, the bursting strength calculated corresponding to the maximum pressure exerted on the material before failure. The pressure required to burst or to rupture the specimen is calculated through a dial gauge completely.
Output
The strength value calculated with this procedure depicts how much weight can be put in a box and is expressed in terms of kilograms per square centimetre. This can be measured and viewed in analogue meter, digital indicator or in graphical format on the computer.
