How does Martindale Abrasion Pilling Tester work?
Using the highly effective testing instrument, the material is subjected to the chaffing with a specific amount of speed and in a highly controlled manner so that the effect of chaffing can be determined so that it is performed in different directions. In this type of test, controlled amount of pressure is applied on the test sample with the help of different weights in different directions to create a different situation of abrasion or pilling of the material. There are four plates on the testing machine where the test sample is placed. All the four plates of are assembled on the base plate of the instrument. There is a revolving plate which is revolved using three cranks, a peg, and a motor. The holder is provided to hold the sample along with the set of varying weights to exert sufficient amount of pressure on the sample. One template and abrading cloth are also provided along with the device for safe and efficient working.
