Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the Indian automotive giant, is now expecting a huge growth in the rural areas. In the financial year 2015-16, the company has targeted to increase share in the rural markets by more than 20%.
The automotive giant saw a massive explosion in its sales in the rural areas in the last couple of years. Financial year 2014-15 has seen highest ever total sales in a single financial year with more than 400 thousand units sold which has increased the sales figure by 23%. Maruti is ready to handle such high demand markets with increased production and high quality assurance with advanced automotive testing equipments.
RS Kalsi, executive Director, Marketing and sales, MSI told PTI that in the coming year, the target of the company is to increase the establishments from 1.25lakhs villages to 1.5lakhs villages. In financial year 2014-15, the company had a rural penetration of 34.5% as compared to 32% in the year 2013-14.
