Use Plastic Granule Testing Instrument for MFI Value

Use Plastic Granule Testing Instrument for MFI Value

Melt Flow Index or MFI is an evaluation of thermoplastic polymers and its melt flow properties. It is calculated in the form of polymer weight in grams, which is flown in a time period of ten minutes via a capillary of a particular diameter and by a specific amount of pressure applied using alternative gravimetric weights in prescribed temperature. The resultant measurement is the MFI value which is used for further quality evaluation of the product. This test can be conducted using a plastic granule testing instrument such as Melt flow index tester

If you are a polymer manufacturer and looking for faster quality control machines which can save your time and deliver high standard test results considered across the globe, your search stops at presto testing instruments.

The plastic granule testing instrument is utilized to evaluate and control the quality of polymer/plastics/thermoplastics being used in the production. With the help of this tester, one can calculate MFI value, Melt Flow Rate (MFR) and Melt Flow Volume (MFV). These values are considered to be the most reliable way of evaluating the molecular weight of plastics, which is directly connected to the polymer performance. The testing instrument not only allows you to conduct a quality control of the raw material as well as the finished product.

Presto’s Melt Flow Index tester is precisely designed for the accurate MFR/MFI/MFV measurement of molten plastics or granules. These are calculated by conducting a standardized test procedure. The procedure includes passing the plastic granules through a die having a particular dimension in diameter and length. The test requires a specific pressure and temperature with the ideal position of a piston in a cylindrical container inside a heated metallic barrel. The machine comes with a PID temperature control and is based on digital advanced technology. The temperature range varies from ambient to 400°C.

Important features offered:
